Karrie Chambless, Music Therapy Intern

Karrie is a Music Therapy intern, attending St. Mary-of-the-Woods College, Terre Haute, Indiana. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Pedagogy, and is a former special education teacher. In 2016, having spent decades dreaming of living in Colorado, Karrie left Texas to continue the study of music therapy alongside Neurologic Music Therapists in Boulder County.

Her research emphasis is in the neurological implications of trauma, including but not limited to PTSD related to war and violence, Traumatic Brain Injury, Domestic Violence, childhood trauma, and the diverse avenues that promote healing, healthy attachments, and safety.

In her spare time, Karrie plays at local open mics with friends, attends concerts, and hikes some local trails with her 11 year old dog, Otis.
